Sometimes, out of nowhere and all too rarely, something comes along and makes you actually believe that the world doesn't shit on the little people. That the underdog can win, you know?
This. This is one of those things.

I love weddings.
( Cut for (in)appropriate language... )
Gotta love a good wedding story.
*Probably not the correct spelling.

- 15:54 Explaining to the little dog that "You bit the bee first" really is going nowhere. He's still feeling sorry for himself. #
My idiot dachshund decided today to take a bite of bee. What he didn't seem to expect was the bee was going to bite back.
After much head shaking and drooling and a whole lot of feeling sorry for himself, he seems to be all right. I think he's going to end up driving me out of my mind, however.
I had no benadryl on hand (hubby took the last of it and didn't tell me), no vehicle to go get any or take the dog to the vet if he'd had a bad reaction. Alan's job is 20 minutes away, then it would have been another 20 to get him to the vet... I swear I was going to have a nervous breakdown.
But as they say, all's well that ends well. Now I just have to keep him from chomping another bee again tomorrow.
Because he will. He's a willful little shit.

Talked to my daughter-unit tonight. We've been playing phone tag for damn near two weeks now.
( Cut for parental ramblings... )
Alan just got off the phone with Kate, and it sounded like there's a visit coming up in May. I can't wait to see them all. Woot!

So in true me fashion, I made a list of things to write about, and I'm promptly ignoring that list to write about something else.
Tonight I write about my utter frustration with so-called over-the-counter meds.
I have allergies. Allergies which I aggressively ignore, to the point of exacerbating them. I am allergic to most pets; I have two dogs. I'm allergic to dust; I don't keep my house dusted as often as I should. I'm allergic to oh so many types of pollen, and I spend hours outside reading. The list goes on and on. And not only do my allergies make my nose run, my eyes water and my skin itch, they also give me horrific sinus headaches. But basically, I know that a lot of it is my own fault.
To deal with the problem, I pretty much live on allergy/sinus medication. Specifically, Claritin-D. I could probably live without the Claritin part, but the D? No way, no how. Sudaphed (pseudoephedrine) is my lifeline.
Unfortunately, wonderful people like to use pseudoephedrine to make meth. Thus, a law was put into effect that you can only buy so much of it in a given period of time. Which, okay, I can understand. Really, I can. I don't mind that they take my ID and make me sign for it every single time. I can deal with that.
However, being only able to buy 15 count, 24 hour tablets in a 30 day period? Not going to work for me. As I said, I live on the stuff. Even 6 hours without it, and I start to get a sinus headache. Twelve hours? I'm in hell.
The punchline to this story is that hubby went tonight to pick up some Claritin-D for me tonight, but they wouldn't let him since he picked it up for me last time, exactly 2 weeks ago. He argued with them, but no dice. So basically, I have to go to my doctor and get a prescription for an over-the-counter medication, so that I can take it every day.
This? A huge pain in the ass. At least my doctor is only 2 minutes away, literally. And maybe if it's prescribed, the insurance company will pay for part of it. That shit is expensive! Anyway, long story short (too late), I'm out of sinus crap til tomorrow morning when I can go to the pharmacy and pick up Claritin (yeah, they'll let me pick it up because it's a different ID), and then call my doctor on Wednesday, since he doesn't work Tuesdays. Meanwhile, I'm going to be having a headache tomorrow, so if I'm cranky, this would be why. BAH.

So I told myself that I needed to post at least once a day. Because I really just need to post once a day.
I have a whole list of things I want to babble/bitch about. A list.
In no particular order:
Hmm. I know there were others. I know there were. And because I didn't write them down someplace, they are now lost in the black hole that used to be my mind.
Anyway. I just realized I might need to do a little house-cleaning before I go into about half of these topics. Otherwise.... DRAMA BUTTON WILL BE USED!

In no particular order:
- Raiding with my WoW guild.
- Reaction to SPN 417.
- New games.
- Dragon eggs.
- Life in Alabama.
- Sexism is alive and well in WoW.
- TV I need to catch up on.
- My shiny Kindle. (Oh, how I love you so.)
- Family up north.
- Grandpeanut!
- Why are there no pickles on my cheeseburgers? (This one probably won't have much to expand upon.)
- Best sex dream evar.
