So, I've been meaning to post this for a while now. Seems like as good a time as any. No, I have no ulterior motives, why do you ask? *eyedart*
And here we go!
Things I've learned in my 2 months in Alabama, in no particular order:
Basically, though, I like it here. I like the weather so far. Not looking forward to black ice season, which we in the north call "winter", but I'm not out driving all that much, so it shouldn't be too bad.
Oh! And look, I have a golden dragon egg! *eyedart*

What? What?! I had no ulterior motives for this post. It's just an afterthought!
And here we go!
Things I've learned in my 2 months in Alabama, in no particular order:
- I live near the Labyrinth. I can prove this, as I live near Hoggle Road.
- The dead here are scared of the dark. I know this because I drive by a cemetary that has lighted crosses at night. Not glow in the dark, lighted. (I keep meaning to take pictures, and always forget!)
- Bigfoot lives near me. I have heard him/her/them at night. Of course, it's always possible that it's not Bigfoot, but Ludo, over at the Labyrinth.
- Always wear your seatbelt. Cops will pull your ass over. Selling drugs? Prostitution? Drunk driving? No problem. But by god, WEAR THAT SEATBELT.
- There are no oil change places anywhere. But if you need cash, there's a title pawn or payday loan place on every other corner.
- KFC is Selma's best fried chicken. The billboard tells me so.
- People here are damned social. Hardly a week goes by without people dropping in unannounced two or three times a week.
- The answer to "Which football team do you root for?" is always either "Auburn" or "Alabama". The answers "Ohio State", "Florida" or "Tennesee" will get your ass shot. Either of the former answers have a 50/50 chance of getting you mocked.
- Using vice grips to roll down the window on your beat up, rusted out, rickety pick-up truck with the muddin' tires and the gunrack in the back window is a no-no, because that's "Just too redneck." Yes, I actually heard someone say this.
Basically, though, I like it here. I like the weather so far. Not looking forward to black ice season, which we in the north call "winter", but I'm not out driving all that much, so it shouldn't be too bad.

I appear to have inadvertently bred Perlina and Rotolo...*g*
I hope you're happy in your new place, and, uh, I want the graveyard with lighed crossing pics!

I might have stumbled across a silver egg and a paper egg, as well. But it was purely accidental! *eyedart*
